This stamp was inspired by a confession on a Tumblr blog called PonyConfessions. Sorry if this Stamp seems lacking in.... reasons! xD

Edit: [link] Over-analyzation much? :lol: Seems like this kid takes Alicorns to a whole new level. Serious fucking business, mang.

I notice many Alicorn OCs tend to get hate. Not only that, people call them Mary Sues. I ask you, should Alicorn OCs get this hate? What makes them Mary Sues, is it because they're a Alicorn which makes them have the Mary Sue tag on them? I don't see what's so bad about it, it's just a character someone made to their liking.

"B-But only Princess Celestia and Princess Luna should be Alicorns and nobody else, it's the rule!"

HOLD UP!! First of all, there's NO RULE to making a My Little Pony OC! There's no rule to making a pony OC. Your pony can be a Alicorn with a biography, no one is stopping you. However, some people tend to throw out the word Mary Sue. My definition of Mary Sue is a bit rusty but a Mary Sue is basically a perfect character with no flaws in them. Again, my definition of it is a bit rusty but i wouldn't mind someone linking me a site that explains it well enough for those who don't know it very well! ^^;

There are good-looking Alicorn OCs out there and none don't have Mary Sue traits. For those that think only Princess Celestia and Luna should be the only one and Alicorn OCs aren't allowed, then you're an idiot. :| Anyone can make a OC out of anything and nobody's complaining at all. If you think that's how it should be, then you really haven't been in many fandoms to know that ANYONE can make a OC of whatever they want as long as they're not perfect and have flaws in them.

Let your imagination go wild, i always say. Be creative with your Alicorns and try not to make them perfect! :iconheartemote:

yeah, I know! I saw an Alicorn oc and someone just called it a Mary-sue out of the blue, they claimed that they didn't say it was a Mary-sue because it was an Alicorn but they did say that the oc was already a Mary-sue and making it an Alicorn made it more of a Mary-sue, even though there was nothing about the back story or personaiity.

I don't care how thing is so long you listening to you're heart and maybe... Think twice now and then, then.. Whatever for almost everything. Or something...

And what's about that they both can magic, fly, and are royal god-like / goddes? Okay most logically-show-base-ideas, Celestia and Luna have no friends (yes somehow, but not like others in Ponyville), and earth ponies Can fly in air-baloons and etc. Zecora Can make magicly thing etc. Etc.

I pretty much only gave my Alicorn OC [Stormy Skies] a horn so I didn't have to make her draw with her mouth. It would seem hard to me...XD

...I'm probably gonna regret this, but I must echo what has been said already. Canonically, alicorns have immense power, and are royalty. While I don't take offense to the royalty aspect, I have an issue with the flying-and-uberpowerful-magic part. Making your OC an alicorn is like saying they're inherently better than everypony else. Either you make your OC overpowered by leaving them as is, violate canon by weakening their magic, or make their alicorn-ness useless by crippling either a horn or a wing.

And let me remind you, original is not the same as good. After all, an earth pony made of mustard that flies around with mustard jets is original, but not good (except as a joke OC). If you want your OC to be taken seriously, make them show-friendly. That means no neon, as little black as you can manage, no sonic rainbooms, no magic more powerful than Twilight Sparkle, and for the love of all things holy, no alicorns.

I agree. As much as I hate to admit it, seeing alicorn OCs kind of makes me mad. I barely let my OC slide as a Pegasus! I think people should focus more on the characterization rather than the species.
